Free Summer Guided Walks
Blue Badge Guides will lead these three walks around the borough. As a special offer, these walks are free of charge.
To book onto the walks please call us on 020 3373 9985 or email guidedwalks@newham.gov.uk, giving details of which walk you would like to book and for how many people. All walks start at 11am.
- 22 August - Green Street - Upton Park Tube Station
- 25 August - Royal Docks - Outside ExCeL London, main entrance, Western Gateway (a few moments from Custom House DLR Station)
- 27 August - Stratford - Meridian Square
- 28 August - Royal Docks - Outside ExCeL London, main entrance, Western Gateway (a few moments from Custom House DLR Station)
- 1 September - Green Street - Upton Park Tube Station
- 5 September - Stratford - Meridian Square
Each walk lasts one to two hours.
The walks will go ahead whatever the weather, in the case of rain, bring an umbrella. People of all ages and abilities are welcome. All children must be accompanied by an adult. If you have any access requirements, please let us know.
Free audio walking tours
There are four free audio-guided walking tours for you to discover. Why not stretch your legs on a series of fascinating guided walks of Newham's most interesting areas. Learn about hidden history and local treasures and let your iPod or MP3 player be your guide. Alternatively you can download the map and directions.

Walk Green Street
This 1.5 hour circular walk showcases an exhilarating mix of Asian Fashion and food and premier league football.
Walk Royal Docks
This reinvigorating 2 hour walk explores Royal Docks, Europe's most impressive expanse of enclosed water.
Walk Stratford
This 1.5 to 2 hour walk takes you on an exciting tour of Stratford, the main gateway to the 2012 Games and already a thriving, youthful area full of cultural aspiration.

Handy walking tips
We hope you enjoy your walk. Please keep in mind the following tips:
- Allow enough time to complete the walk at your own pace
- Take care on busy roads, using pedestrian crossings where possible
- Wear comfortable clothing
- Take a bottle of water
- Walking during daylight hours is recommended
- Be sensible about your own safety and safety of your possessions

Walk London's Autumn Ambles - Saturday 25 / Sunday 26 September 2010
Join in with over 50 FREE guided walks around London (including Special 'Walking Towards the Games' walk through Newham!) - ranging from short urban ambles to more serious treks on the outskirts of the Capital.
