Newham Council maintains 10 library buildings, a mobile library that visits all over the borough, and a home reader service that visits those that need to stay at home. The libraries offer a broad range of books in English and community languages, DVDs, CDs, newspapers, magazines, internet computers and many things more. Library membership is free and available to everyone.
But even if you do not want to borrow anything Newham's libraries are a comfortable, safe and positive environment, where the staff are happy to help with your interests: join a reading group, bring your children for a storytelling session, find out about local courses or council services, get help with your homework or just enjoy an afternoon of games and fun.
To find a library near you browse here and discover what Newham's libraries have to offer.
There are even plenty of library services available to you online, from the daily press and digital encyclopaedias to legal research and homework help. There is even a library catalogue that allows you to search for and renew your library items online. All you have to do is the visit the Libraries Online page and you can access everything using your library card details.
