On 24 August 2008 the Beijing Olympic Games came to a close. The eyes of the world are now on London - and Newham - as hosts of the next summer Olympic Games. To mark the occasion films have been produced starring Newham people performing Olympic-inspired feats and reflecting on their dreams and ambitions for 2012.

Hosting the The London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games represents a tremendous opportunity for East London to make use of the new facilities. It also puts the spotlight on sports, healthy living and ways to get involved.

The film above shows Newham people performing Olympic-inspired feats. Whether you visit to a leisure centre, walk through a park or join a sports club there are plenty of ways to keep fit and healthy in Newham.
