Visitors were treated to entertainment that included a variety of sports and fitness exercises as well as a lion dance performance.

There was also a gallery of Olympic and Paralympic images for people to view.

As the Beijing Games came to an end, the closing ceremony was screened for all to watch.

Deputy Mayor Councillor Christine Bowden, spoke at the event. She said: "Team GB's Paralympians did so well in Beijing and have shown they are ready for the London 2012 Games.

The Beijing Games' motto was ‘Equal Splendour' and that is what they achieved.

"The organisers of the Beijing Games listened to the Paralympic competitors and took in consideration the challenges they face, for example, the accessibility of the facilities.

"This is something that we must do too.

"We want to make sure that no one feels left out. There should be no difference - and we should also be aiming for Equal Splendour."
