The official Olympic Handover Flag will fly throughout the free concerts in Central Park, East Ham, which feature a range of musical styles from Bjorn Again and The Bootleg Beatles to Asian chart topper Jay Sean.
The festival culminates on Sunday with a classical music event featuring the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and a massive fireworks display.
There will also be a special Newham Welcomes the World intermission with Olympic gold medallist Tessa Sanderson OBE set to appear on stage with a host of sporting heroes and aerial performers.
There will be exciting video presentations starring Newham people performing Olympic-inspired feats and reflecting on their dreams and ambitions for 2012.
Mayor of Newham, Sir Robin Wales, said: "The Games represents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for us to raise the profile of the borough and inspire people to participate in sport and healthy lifestyles.
"Residents were already excited about the 2012 Games, but the fact that Team GB has done so well in Beijing has only increased the feeling of excitement and anticipation. The 2012 Games may seem far away, but it will be here before we know it!"
