The old and the new - Millennium Mill and some apartments

During the month of January, the Newham.com team received at least a photo a day from residents in our photo competition.

Tristán White was one of our runners up. You can see the other runners up, as well as the winning photo in the photo gallery.

Millennium Mill is a large complex of reinforced concrete granaries erected in the 1930's replacing earlier granaries/mills. Plans are underway for these to be turned into apartments.

Tristán feels that Millennium Mill should be treasured as part of Newham's heritage and was glad to see them featured in the filming of the BBC drama "Ashes to Ashes"
