Sir Robin Wales welcomes you to Newham

A very warm welcome to Newham.com, a website dedicated to all things Newham.

Sir Robin Wales

Sir Robin Wales

Newham is London's most exciting borough. There has never been a better time to live, work or visit here. With so much on offer, now and in the future, Newham is a place of real opportunity, the place to be.

Not only is Newham a host borough for the 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games - most of the main events will be held here - it is also where the multi-billion pound Stratford City is being built, with its fantastic shopping centre, hotels, business and residential developments.

But that's not all. There are other exciting new developments planned too, including the amazing London Biota Centre as part of the new Silvertown Quays complex. And Newham is already home to three of London's most popular attractions: London City Airport, ExCeL London and West Ham United - all of which are planning to expand.

In all, more than £12 billion worth of regeneration is happening here over the next several years. The new centre of London starts right here, in Newham.

But it's not just fantastic new developments and our excellent transport links that makes Newham special. It is our people. We are very proud to have one of the youngest and most multi cultural communities you will find anywhere in the world. It gives the place a real vibrancy, excitement, freshness and diversity. That's why some of us choose to live here.

There is no limit on what people can do for themselves if they are supported, encouraged and inspired. That's what Newham.com can do for you. If you like the site, why not become a member? With so much happening here over the next few years it is your way of ensuring you are kept right up-to-date with all that's going on.
