Executive Member for Culture, Cllr Jo Corbett, cheered the children and young people on as they sprinted 60 metres to gain a place in the London finals.

Participants and supporters were entertained by cheerleaders from Grange Primary School in Plaistow, Scott Wilkie Primary School in Custom House and the Royal Docks Community School in Custom House.

Councillor Corbett said: "All the children and young people who took part in the competition get full marks for effort. Their determination to reach the finals was outstanding with the support friends and family in the stands making a real difference. The atmosphere was fabulous."
