Making you and your community safer - action against knife crime

Find out what's being done to combat knife crime on the streets of Beckton.

Working together we can make Beckton safer

The Metropolitan Police, Newham Council and many other organisations are working together to make our community safer.

This is your opportunity to:

  • Learn about Operation Blunt 2 - a police initiative to tackle serious youth violence, particularly carrying and using knives in public
  • See the stop and search knife detection arches and the mobile police station
  • Take part in workshops - ‘challenging violent crime' for young people and ‘knife crime advice' for parents
  • Meet your Safer Neighbourhood Team, Neighbourhood Watch and council service teams
  • Get personal safety tips
  • Check out Fight for Peace Academy - a violence prevention programme for young people

The event is hosted by Beckton Community Forum and its active community team
