This terminal re-configuration is scheduled to be completed in early 2011 with the vast majority of the works taking place during the airport's nightly and weekend closure times to ensure there is little disruption to passengers.

British Airways has now completed the replacement of all its AVRO RJ100 fleet with a brand new London City Airport dedicated fleet of Embraer 170 and 190 a larger more fuel efficient and environmentally friendly aircraft. Lufthansa and Baboo have also launched services with Embraer 190. The new aircraft have unique 2x2 seating configuration with wider and more comfortable seats.
